Over the past couple of months, I’ve compiled a list of 64 TV shows from you, my readers. They have been broken down into four divisions randomly. If your favorite is missing, you’ve no one to blame but yourself.
Without further ado:
1. Cop Rock (1990). In what must have been one of the shortest lived series on network television, “Cop Rock” was part “Real Stories of the Highway Patrol” and part “The Sound of Music”. After chasing down a criminal, the force would take to the street for an organized dance number, then haul the guy back to HQ.
2. Car 54, Where are You? (1961-1963). The misadventures of two of New York’s finest (a Mutt and Jeff pair) in the mythical 53rd precinct in the Bronx. Toody, the short, stocky and dim-witted one either saves the day or muffs things up much to the chagrin of Muldoon, the tall, lanky and smart one.
3. The Academy (2007-2009). A docu-reality style look at the L.A. county Sheriff’s department academy as the recruits go through a grueling 18-week training program.
4. Law & Order (1990-2010). The show follows a crime, usually adapted from current headlines, from two separate vantage points. The first half of the show concentrates on the investigation of the crime by the police, the second half follows the prosecution of the crime in court.
Only one of these four will advance to the Savory Sixteen. Voting for first round of the Winchell’s Division will end today at 2300 hrs. Left Coast time.
