Blast from the Past

This week (and next) finds me in DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) training. The training runs from 8 to 5, but, depending on traffic, the commute can be anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes each way.

Why am I telling you this?

Because I’m totally going to mine the archives for some posts you have likely never read.

Since my mind is full of whether or not CNS Depressants cause Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (they do) and whether or not Narcotic Analgesics dilate or constrict the pupils (they constrict), you get the benefit of reading a blast from the past.

Today’s blast, from May of 2011, was one of my more entertaining stops…if you consider rage and borderline insanity entertaining.

Which I’m pretty sure you do.

So, enjoy If Bad Parenting Were Illegal, I’d Have Taken This Woman To Prison.

Please note: I reserve the right to delete comments that are offensive or off-topic. Snark is encouraged. Being a prat is not.

  1. If you haven’t already, you will be having dreams about the matrix by the week end.

  2. RADAR:
    RAdio Detection And Ranging
    LIght Detection And Ranging

LIDAR is a handheld speed enforcement instrument. It sends out rapid pulses of columated (focused) beams of infrared LASER (Light Amplification thru Stimulated Emission of Radiation) light. A “Time of flight” measurement of each light pulse is made. The “Time of flight” is how long it takes the light to be sent out strike an object and reflect back to the instrument, therefore stopping an internal stop watch. The instrument multiplies the elapsed time by the speed of light and provides the distance to the object (car). The changes in distance over time allow the instrument to calculate speed.

Big long winded way of saying it allows us to confirm how fast you were speeding. (Which, by the way, we already knew to within about +/- 3mph)

**Sorry MC, I threw this out since you’re trying to learn a couple semesters worth of info in a couple weeks.

  3. SMH…… oh, those poor kiddos. When they need help, they may be too afraid to call the ones who can help. 🙁
as for the female (no, she is not a lady), it could possibly be PMDD but even so, she needs to control her mouth. I’m starting to wonder if self-discipline might be the greatest virtue. Well handled, MC.
