13 years ago today, I was sworn into the LEO life.
I’ve got less than 10 years left. I can’t believe how fast half of my career has gone by. I’ve spent almost half of those 13 years as MC (although MC wasn’t technically born until April of ’08). I’ve taken one promotional exam and landed waaaayyyy down the list. Maybe that’s God’s way of telling me the world needs MC. Or maybe I just suck at oral examinations.
See what I did there?
Either way, I’m happy and proud to be where I am in my career and I can honestly say I’ve made a difference in at least a few lives. It’s a satisfying feeling, I assure you. What’s even more satisfying, however, is the constant support I’ve received from you all over the past couple of months as I’ve been absent from the blog. Having still been around the Twitter machine and the Facebook, I’ve been able to interact with a lot of you and I can’t say thank you enough. I can honestly say many of you have brought a smile to my face and warmed the cockles of my heart.
It’s incredible the amount of change that has occurred in the last 13 years. Marriage. Three children. Paying off all our debt. Multiple assignments/challenges at work. Don’t let anyone tell you life is monotonous or boring. It is what you make of it.
I’ve made mine a blast…and you’ve played no small part in that.
So, from where my heart should be, I say thank you.
But don’t get all weepy or nothing, ‘cuz if I catch you speeding, I’ll still crush your soul. 😉
